Having photographed matters (water, earth, stone, wood, metal) in nature and in the city, with the idea in mind that their juxtaposition would underline the complexity of our control over them, I realized that natural materials sculpted by our hands and our machines, retained a deep « identity », an unbroken link with nature regardless of our intervention … Is it because we question so much the value of our existence that we mark our territories so powerfully, while we praise nature as a life source?  A bond of friendship governs the totality of the visible, in spite of the implacable control our world strives on, out of necessity, distraction, or simple blindness.
